A Filipino's Guide to Roman Catholic Churches and Tagalog Masses in Singapore

Hello, kabayan!

Most of us Filipinos have been raised as devout Roman Catholic believers. Singapore is a diverse country which respects all faith or religion practiced by the residents. Hence, you'll be happy to hear that there is no shortage of Roman Catholic churches and even Tagalog masses in Singapore.

During my first year of working here in Singapore as a Filipino, I went on a quest to look for churches and Tagalog masses. English masses are more common, of course, but sometimes, when you miss home a little more intensely, you'd want to hear mass in your local language.

In this blog, Your Filipina Ate in Singapore will share relevant information on where Roman Catholics can attend Sunday Eucharistic celebrations in Singapore, and include Tagalog mass schedules, too.

Roman Catholic Churches in Singapore

Roman Catholic Churches spread across Singapore. Almost all have air-conditioning units and are located very near the MRT and bus stations. Some of the most prominent ones located in the central business areas are the following:

  • Church of the Sacred Heart: Nestled in the heart of Orchard Road, this exquisite church boasts stunning stained glass windows and a serene atmosphere for reflection and prayer.

  • Church of Sts. Peter and Paul: Located in Queen Street, this historical church dates back to the late 1800s and features beautiful neo-gothic architecture, creating a captivating ambiance for worship.

  • Church of Our Lady of Lourdes: Situated in Ophir Road, this church is known for its remarkable shrine to Our Lady of Lourdes, providing a serene space for heartfelt devotion.

Personally, Your Filipina Ate in Singapore's favorite church in terms of the architecture and eucharistic celebration is the Church of Saint Theresa, which you can visit by bus from Vivo City (Harbourfront).

Other churches, which might be located in your neighbourhood, are equally nice. They have regular Sunday masses offered in different languages, usually English and Mandarin. Some churches have Tagalog, Tamil, and Bahasa Indonesia masses, too, to cater to the religious communities in the area.

Here is a complete list of Roman Catholic churches in Singapore.
